We get blue herons here...less spooky, but unpredictable. I see them a lot along the towpath (C&O), & there's one that tends to hang out near a particular bridge...lots of passers-by so he's used to people & has become fairly tolerant. I love watching these guys lift off, kind of like reverse parachutes...
